I dropped my eleven year old son off at summer camp last Saturday. He is away for a week at Camp Mi-Te-Na.  It’s through the YMCA.  Since this is his second year going, I thought it would be a breeze saying good-bye.  UGH!!  I CRIED!  Of course, he never saw a tear.  We laughed and joked as I walked away from his cabin, but after I got into the car, forget it!  I’m better now.  Only because I know in three days I’ll be driving up there to get him. 

With that in mind, I can’t imagine how Moms and Dads did it years ago.  Sending their children off to summer camp for a week or more.  They were lucky if they got as much as a post card. These days it’s different.  I log on to the web site every day and I’m able to see pictures of my son.  A photographer takes pictures  every day and then uploads them.  I know every day what he was doing and if he changed his clothes!  (he didn’t last year)
